An apparatus, and a method for facilitating control of passage at a security gate, or othei secured passagew ay, at a limited access facility. A scanner is pro/ ided that scans the RFID tag, RFID information is detected and its contents are used to access stored infoi mation associated with the vehicle. The accessed information is provided to the scanner and displayed on a display screen thereof.
