PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide configurations for interleaving data symbols onto sub-carrier signals of an OFDM symbol. SOLUTION: A prescribed number of data symbols for mapping to a prescribed number of sub-carrier signals of the OFDM symbol is read in an interlever memory and read out in order different from the read-in order. An address generator includes a linear feedback shift register and a permutation circuit, and the linear feedback shift register has 10 register stages and a generator polynomial for the linear feedback shift register. A permutation code uses one additional bit to generate a 11-bit address. The permutation code is changed for each OFDM so as to reduce the possibility that successive data bits of an input data stream or data bits close in order to each other are mapped to the same sub-carrier signal.
