摘要	<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for charging a secondary cell, capable of properly calculating a deterioration factor according to deterioration of the secondary cell, and restraining a progress of deterioration of the secondary cell by controlling charging conditions based on the calculated deterioration factor. <P>SOLUTION: A battery pack includes the secondary cell; a measurement portion which detects voltage, current, and internal resistance of the secondary cell; a control portion which monitors the voltage and current during charging of the secondary cell and outputs a request signal of the charging conditions so as to charge the secondary cell according to the charging conditions; and a memory which registers an initial internal resistance value of the secondary battery. The control portion calculates a deterioration coefficient based on a ratio of the internal resistance detected by the measurement portion to the initial internal resistance registered by the memory. The charging conditions can be changed according to the deterioration coefficient and therefore it is possible to restrain the secondary cell from being charged for a long time under a high voltage state, thus restraining progress of deterioration of the secondary cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
