PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a ceramic material, by which a ceramic material having a complicated shape can be molded and the use of an organic binder being an environmental load substance can be reduced; and to provide an apparatus for producing the ceramic material. SOLUTION: For producing the ceramic material, a mask 2 having a desired shape is located on a substrate 3, and a spacing is formed between the substrate 3 and the mask 2. An aerosol 15, which includes a carrier gas 5 and raw material particles 4 dispersed in the carrier gas 5, is jetted out onto the substrate 3, and the jetted-out aerosol 15 is caused to flow into the spacing between the substrate 3 and the mask 2. The raw material particles 4, which are contained in the aerosol 15, are deposited in the spacing between the substrate 3 and the mask 2, and a molded body 17 having the same shape as the shape of the mask 2 is formed.
