PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can easily acquiring a subject image of proper image quality. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging device including a Gr line L1 and a Gb line L2 comprising normal pixels 110, can outputting image signals relating to a subject light image passing a photographic optical system; and an AF line Lf, wherein a pair of pixels 11a and 11b receiving subject luminous fluxes passing through a pair of partial areas in an exit pupil of the photographic optical system are arranged in the horizontal direction; the imaging device having this configuration is exposed during actual photographing, to make he Gr line L1 and the Gb line L2 output image signals of a subject and to make the AF line (focus detection pixel column) Lf output a pixel column signal. Then focus restoration processing, based on a defocus amount obtained by performing focus detection in a phase difference detection system, on the basis of the pixel column signal is executed on the image signals, whereby the subject image of good image quality can be acquired readily.
