<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data input method and an apparatus capable of carrying out, by pressing down one key, a plurality of processing at once or dividedly which are the same or higher in difficulty than those of a keyboard and mouse operation in order to carry out the operation of personal computer work most easily. <P>SOLUTION: The data input method and the data input apparatus 2 are constituted in such a manner that a computer 4 is applied with keyboard codes and mouse codes. There are provided a plurality of keys for input data selection, Code strings formed by combining a plurality of sets of the same codes as those when the keyboard and a mouse are operated are stored in a plurality of pieces in regard to each state that keys are pressed down one by one, which are continued to be pressed down, and when the keys are released from being pressed down.
