PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an axial line of a telescopic screw screwed in a nut member parallel to an axial line of a steering shaft. SOLUTION: A bracket 45 for supporting a motor case 48 to an upper jacket 3b comprises a first bracket 50 formed with a first attaching surface 50a roughly parallel to the upper jacket 3b by being welded to the upper jacket 3b, and a second bracket 49 attached to the first attaching surface 50a through two bolts 51 to be jointed to relatively move along a first oval hole 49c long in the X-axis direction in a roughly right angle to a shaft core of the upper jacket 3b, formed with a second attaching surface 49d in a roughly right angle to the first attaching surface 50a. In the second bracket 49, the motor case 48 is attached through one bolt 52 to relatively move along a second oval hole 49e long in the Y-axis direction in a roughly right angle to the shaft core of the upper jacket 3b.
