<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for economically producing molten iron even in the case a cold iron source of iron scrap is largely used. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing molten iron partially using a cold iron source where the inside of a torpedo car 2 is charged with iron scrap as a cold iron source 6, next, the inside of the torpedo car is preheated, and, after the completion of the preheating, hot metal 12 discharged from a blast furnace 10 is received inside the torpedo car, so that the cold iron source in the torpedo car is melted to produce molten iron, the inside of the torpedo car is preheated using a regenerative burner 8 capable of performing alternating combustion operation by repeating a series of operation of recovering the heat of exhaust gas generated in the torpedo car at a regenerative part and feeding the air through the regenerative part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
