PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant formulation such as a cable-protection formulation obtained by mixing an ester blend and silica. SOLUTION: The formulation comprises a blend of a first ester and a second ester, wherein the first ester consists of a reaction product of a first reaction component consisting of a trimeric acid, a first polyhydric alcohol and a first monohydric alcohol, the first monohydric alcohol being selected from the group consisting of 8-18C monohydric alcohols; and a second ester consists of a reaction product of a second reaction component consisting of a trimeric acid, a second polyhydric alcohol and a second monohydric alcohol, the second monohydric alcohol being selected from the group consisting of 6-10C monohydric alcohol and wherein the first and second monohydric alcohols are not identical.
