A display device and a recording control method are provided to perform a video recording to a final scene of a TV program by recognizing an ending point of the TV program to be recorded. When a TV program gets started(S10,S20), a CPU starts to record the TV program(S40). The CPU determines whether it is the sign-off time of the program being recorded(S50). If it is the sign-off time of the program from the determination, the CPU counts the black signal detected from a decoding of the image signal of the program(S60). The CPU determines whether the counted black signal value is same or bigger than a predetermined black signal standard value or not(S70). If the counted black signal value is smaller than the predetermined black signal standard value, the CPU determines whether it is 10 minutes passed from the sign-off time of the program(S80). If the counted black signal value from the determination is bigger than the black signal standard value and it is 10 minutes passed from the sign-off time of the program, the CPU stops the recording of the program(S90). |
