<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile station which improves communication quality by selecting a suitable antenna according to the moving condition of a mobile station to select a cell and make communication. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile station moving in a service area composed of a plurality of cells communicates with a base station provided for each cell in a cellular mobile communication system. It is composed of an antenna means composed of a plurality of antenna elements different in pointing directions for receiving a pilot channel unique to the cell or a report channel including an own cell identifier sent from the base station, a receiver for receiving signals from the base station through the antenna means, and a means for selecting a cell to which it belongs by measuring the receiving level of the pilot channel or the communication quality of the report channel while switching the antenna elements connected to the receiver one after another. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
