LIQUID CRYSTL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

A liquid crystal display and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent the display from being pressed down due to the external pressure and to maintain a cell gap by using a ball spacer. A pixel region and a non-pixel region of the peripheral region of the pixel region form a sub pixel. The sub pixel is arranged on a first substrate and a second substrate(200) in a matrix type. The first substrate and the second substrate are arranged to face each other. A gate line(101) and a data line intersect on the first substrate, divide the pixel regions, and are formed on the non-pixel region. A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) is formed in the intersection of the data line and the gate line. A black matrix layer(201) is formed on the second substrate to correspond to the non-pixel region. A first spacer(130) and a second spacer(140) are arranged on the upper part of the black matrix layer between the first and second substrates. The first spacer is composed of a plurality of first balls(131) with a first diameter and a first solid part(132) cohering the first ball. The second spacer is composed of a plurality of second balls with a second diameter smaller than the first diameter and a second solid part(142) cohering the second ball. A liquid crystal layer is filled between the first and second substrates.
