An apparatus for providing path map information and a method thereof are provided to obtain node information with regard to a moving path of a user terminal and upload the obtained node information to a server providing path map information, thereby providing a recommendation path uploaded by a user to another user. A path map information providing apparatus comprises a database(340), a searcher(330) and a path management unit(320). At least one recommendation path information which user inputs is stored in the database. The searcher searches recommendation path information corresponding to a departure location and a destination location among the recommendation path information stored in the database. The path management unit provides the path map information generated based on the searched recommendation path information.
