<p>A receiver is provided comprising (i) a phase demodulator, and (ii) an electronic dispersion compensation that is connected to the phase demodulator, wherein the phase demodulator comprises a delay that is equal to or less than 1 bit. Further, a method for operating said receiver is provided.</p>
