PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform range-finding by additionally emitting light when an integrated value after first light emission does not attain a specified value for the purpose of appropriately performing automatic focusing whether a distance to a subject is a long distance or a short distance considering malfunctions occurring when failed in the first light emission and to perform range-finding again by resetting the width of the first light emission, which is larger than that of the first light emission but smaller than that of second light emission, when the integrated value after the first light emission does not attain the specified value and the integrated value after the second light emission is saturated. SOLUTION: In the range-finding device which receives subject light, photoelectrically converting the subject light and performs range-finding based on the integrated value obtained by cumulatively integrating charge obtained by emitting light by several times, the range-finding is performed by additionally emitting the light when the integrated value after the first light emission does not attain the specified value, and is performed again by resetting the width of the first light emission, which is larger than that of the first light emission but smaller than that of the second light emission (S38), when the integrated value after the first light emission does not attain the specified value, and the integrated value after the second light emission is saturated (affirmative in S45 and S46).
