Each load is supplied via a limited area (4) of the space in which an intense and rapidly variable electric field is present, without any wire, electric contact, or any use of a ground connection. The intense field is created locally between some sub-electrodes (5) located under the surface of the generator and an electrode (6), or between several sub-electrodes located opposite each other on the load side. The active sub-electrodes (5) on the generator side are selected by switches (7), e.g. magnetic switches actuated by a permanent magnet (8) located at the load (3). On the load side, a passive electrode (9) is used and can be considered as mainly coupled to the surrounding electric medium. The invention is particularly intended for the remote power supply of removable or mobile electric devices requiring small or medium amounts of power.
