PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine oil deterioration determination method and its device by which an oil deterioration degree is be determined for the sake of suppressing engine wear. SOLUTION: A pH value of an engine oil 4 for lubricating an engine in vehicle is measured using a pH sensor 10 for detecting a pH value indicating acidity and basicity. In advance, the relationship between pH values and wearing degrees (wearing rate) VA of an engine has been set to calculate a wearing rate VA corresponding to a pH value measured through the relationship. Then, an engine worn amount A is determined, based on the wearing rate VA and an engine driving time causing the pH value, thereby determining the oil deterioration based on the engine worn amount A thus determined.
