PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control the amplitude and center voltage of a voltage signal to be supplied to a liquid crystal display panel in the entire screen without depending on a display block, and to suppress the occurrence of flickers or image persistence. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device carrying out grayscale display by AC driving includes: a driver IC which is a linear DAC driver IC that receives bit allocation data together with a video signal, the bit allocation signal specifying allocation of bits in the video signal to the respective signal bits, and outputs an analog output signal in response to positive and negative input signals in a high bit number corresponding to the video signal; a grayscale display voltage correcting unit 1, which has a lookup table 12 in each of desired display blocks, the lookup table specifying the bit allocation data corresponding to positive and negative data so as to give desired display characteristics in a balance of negative and positive data, and which outputs the bit allocation data to the driver IC2.
