METHOD FOR HANDLING A PORTABLE DEVICE BASED ON GUI AND APPARATUS THEREOF

A method for handling a portable device based on GUI and an apparatus thereof are provided to minimize the size of the input interface in order to maximize the product size comparison with the screen size. According to the convolution signal generated through the rotatable input interface which is equipped in the mobile unit, the menu shown in the GUI screen of the mobile unit is moved(210). A plurality of low rank lists of the menu moved is searched according to the directional signal which shows the direction of one side by utilizing the sensor which is built in the input interface(220). The specific item is searched by using the sensor which is built in the input interface.
