PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing apparatus capable of executing processing based on a command among optional pieces of data under data transfer, and to provide its method. SOLUTION: The data processing apparatus inputs transfer data to which command words and data words each having predetermined bit length are multiplexed, executes predetermined processing to data of the data words included in the transfer data in order of data words in the transfer data to generate data words after processing. In addition, processing instructed by the command words included in the transfer data is executed in timing that the order of processing to the data words and processing of the command words match the order of the data words and the command words in the transfer data to generate command words after processing.
