It is possible to provide an electric power steering device having an excellent steering feeling as compared to a conventional steering device by reducing a change of viscosity feeling accompanying the change of the steering speed. A basic assist torque Tab is calculated; a filter parameter such as a time constant Tn is calculated; and a gain Gs is calculated. A steering speed s ? is calculated and a correction torque Tcmps is calculated as a product of a gain Gs and a value obtained by processing the steering speed s ? by a secondary-delay and primary-advance filter. Furthermore, a final target assist torque Ta is calculated as a sum of the basic assist torque Tab and the correction torque Tcmps and control is performed so that the assist torque is the final target assist torque Ta.
