Disclosed are a valve assembly and a compressor having the same. In the valve assembly and the compressor having the same according to the present invention, the sliding valve for controlling the flow direction of the liquid is made of a high-temperature proof material having good lubricity, thereby preventing the deformation or damage of the sliding valve during the assembly process of the valve assembly or due to the drying heat occurring when the compressor adapting the valve assembly is dried, thus to increase the reliability of the valve assembly as well as enhance the efficiency of the compressor adopting the same.
