PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new flexible optical guided wave path device based on a Si-O-Si bond-containing compound by position-selectively or space-selectively forming a silica glass layer in the inner portion of the Si-O-Si bond-containing compound, and to establish a method for producing an artificial skin for robots. SOLUTION: The first laser beam 2 is focused and irradiated on a prescribed place of a silicone 1 through a condenser lens 3. In order to modify a desired place, the silicone 1 or the condenser lens 3 is relatively moved to modify the inner portion of the silicone 1.
