PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give directions at timings defined by broad demonstrative terms and express the directions with use of broad demonstrative terms of the same type as those by which the timings have been defined. SOLUTION: A guide information presentation device includes: a presentation timing detector 11 that monitors the position of the device as detected by a position detector 8, measures the distance from a guide point on a route set by a route setter 10, and outputs a guide information presentation command when the distance from that guide point matches a broad distance into which a broad demonstrative term output by a broad demonstrative term specifier has been converted by a broad distance converter; and a guide information generator 12 that, upon receiving the presentation command from the presentation timing detector 11, generates guide information with use of the broad demonstrative term output from the broad demonstrative term specifier.
