PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap tread rubber composition for a large-sized tire, enhancing abrasion resistance, workability and low fuel consumption, without making worse chip cut resistance and mechanical strength, and the large-sized tire using the rubber composition for a cap tread. SOLUTION: This cap tread rubber composition for the large-sized tire contains a rubber component containing 5-90 wt.% of deproteinized natural rubber having 0.3 wt.% or less of total nitrogen content as an index of a protein, and containing 10-95 wt.% of natural rubber, and 0.5-3.0 pts.wt. of wax with respect to the rubber component 100 pts.wt.
