<p>A system is provided for simulating the path of an endoscope in a human or animal passageway or cavity. The system includes a memory communicatively coupled to a processor, the memory having stored therein data representative of the passageway or cavity, a tube, and sensing means communicatively coupled to the processor for sensing movement of the tube. The processor is configured to translate movement of the tube detected by the sensing means into movement inside the passageway or cavity by way of a physics engine coupled to or incorporated in the processor. An apparatus and method for endoscopy simulation are also described.</p> |
