HYDROPHILIC COMPOSITION CONTAINING HINOKITIOL

[PROBLEMS] To provide a hydrophilic composition containing hinokitiol which sustains a sufficient viscosity and yet has a transparent appearance so that it remains inconspicuous after applying to an oral mucosa such as gum, and has a good keeping stability of hinokitiol. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A hydrophilic composition containing hinokitiol which contains a dihydric alcohol such as ethylene glycol, propylene glycol or butylene glycol in an amount of 30% by weight or more based on the total composition and is free from glycerol. It is preferable that the composition has a viscosity of 10000 cp or more when measured with a B-type viscometer.
