In order to suppress lowering of a processing speed caused when the bit length of a digital signal becomes longer, a mobile telephone (1001) receives an input of a digital signal of a predetermined length indicating a coordinate of user-specified position on the input surface of a touch panel (1300) with a predetermined resolution from the touch panel (1300) and converts the received digital signal into a digital signal having a bit length shorter than the predetermined bit length indicating the coordinate of the user-specified position on the input surface with a resolution lower than the predetermined resolution.
