A controlling method of battery warning lamp using CAN communication comprises the following steps: the monitoring step that receives the battery voltage and the coolant temperature from ECU in cluster through the controller area network communications after the engine is started and performs the monitoring(S304); the first comparison step for comparing the battery voltage with the pre-stored limit inferior reference voltage(S306); the second comparison step that compares the battery voltage with the pre-stored high limit reference voltage in case the battery voltage is higher than the limit inferior reference voltage(S308); the voltage decreasing ratio comparison step that compares the voltage decreasing ratio of battery with the pre-stored standards descending rate in case the battery voltage is higher than the high limit reference voltage(S310); the first maintenance decision step that whether it maintains the state for the pre-stored base time or greater in case the voltage decreasing ratio is the standards descending rate or greater or not determines(S318); the lighting step that lights the battery warning lamp in case of maintaining the state where the voltage decreasing ratio is the standards descending rate or greater for the base time or greater(S334).
