AIR CONDITIONER AND CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME

An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to prevent the frosting of a heat exchanger effectively by carrying out the anti-freezing operation of the heat exchanger in optimum conditions therefore. An electrode part generates electric fields for preventing moisture on the surface of a heat exchanger from being in the solid phase. A voltage generating part applies a voltage in a set frequency band to the electrode part, wherein the frequency band is variably set in the range of 0.5~ 500kHz and the voltage is variable in the range of 0.5~10KV.
