A sound image positioning control device (100) controls positioning of a sound image of a surround sound image reproduced by a pair of right and left front speakers (110). In order to control sound image positioning, firstly, an identification unit (101) identifies an amount of cross talk of the surround sound reproduced by the front speakers (110) according to angle information defined by a listener position and the front speakers (110). A generation unit (102) generates a control signal to cancel the cross talk in accordance with the cross talk amount in the surround sound of a frequency above the cut-off frequency of the front speakers (110). Lastly, a reproduction control unit (103) causes one of the pair of right and left front speakers (110) to reproduce a surround sound and the other to reproduce the control signal generated by the generation unit (102).
