<p>An improved control mechanism for a self-closing sphygmomanometer valve is disclosed. The valve head is movable from an upper closed position to a lower open position against the action of an internal spring. The internal chamber of the valve head is narrowed at its upper portion to achieve a wedging fit over the enclosed valve guide, to thereby selectively retain the head in a depressed position from which it can be released by the application of a lateral force by the operator.</p> |
