Empty bottle sorter and rejector - spider with suction cups responds to bottle shape by cam action

Empty bottle sorter separates out those unsuited to processing, washing etc. by means of a spider which turns freely round a vertical axis. Each bottle socket round the spider is fitted with suction cups which adjust axially and radially and work with a continuous delivery vacuum pump. Each socket also an air valve housing on which a radially proud control cam can be forced into the valve by an unsuitable bottle shape or size and in so doing couple up the pump. The cam is placed in suction lock-out setting by a further cam lying in the rejected bottles removal path.
