<p>The system is for transporting and handling railway points, and other track components, in the course of replacing old material with new, while holding up traffic only on one line. A set of manipulating machines is driven over the old track, which is raised and replaced by a temporary rollable track. On this a set of transport machines is brought up to just below the manipulating machines carrying the old material, the latter machines being then set on them and brough to a dismantling position, where the old material is unloaded. New material is placed on the transport machines, which carry the manipulating machines back and set them down again. The rollable track is removed, and the new material laid by the manipulating machines. Both sets of machines may be towed or pushed along.</p> |
