PURPOSE:To enable to estimate the thermal stability of atmosphere at site simply with high accuracy, by estimating the temperature gradient through the non-dimension amount from the result of measurement of infrared ray meter of one wave length and thermometer provided on ground. CONSTITUTION:The thermometer 1 is located at a given height on ground and infrared ray meter 2 of one wave length is installed on ground. Further, the electric outputs are fed to the self recording meter 3 to read in the average value of each 10 minutes for earth temperature TO and infrared radiant ray intensity I, and they are converted into the figure F by using equation 1. Next, the temperature gradient is obtained with the straight line regression equation 2, and the thermal stability of atmosphere such as inversion, stable and unstable can be estimated by the classification of the table 1 from the estimate of the temperature gradient. Thus, the stability of atmosphere can be estimated simply with high accuracy at site. |
