Injection moulding corrugated thimble shapes - using compressed air when mould opens to inflate moulding and blow off male tool

A corrugated thimble shape of injection moulding e.g. polyethylene seal caps is ejected from the male core tool by admitting pressure agent e.g. compressed air between the surfaces of the core and the female tool wall when the mould is opened. Compressed air is continuously fed to the grooves (14). When the mould is closed and polymer has been injected and cooled, the female tool (6) is opened. The spring-loaded mounting plate (15) is moved to its stop ring (18), moving the rod (12) and hence the head (11) slightly away from the faces (13). Air thus flows between the core (9) and the inside surfaces of the moulding. The moulding is inflated and blown off the core (9). Method makes possible injection moulding and therefore high output, low cost, close dimensional tolerances and low rejection rate.
