PURPOSE:To detect a coil diameter without contacting and without increasing the number of processes, by counting pulses corresponding to the rotation of an arm during the time when the light of a photoelectric element on the locus of turning of the arm is shielded by a new coil is a turret type coil rewinder. CONSTITUTION:An old coil 9 in course of rewinding is mounted at one end of a turret turning arm 10 of a turret type coil rewinder 5. When the old coil is rewound and the cil diameter reaches a set value, the arm 10 is turned counterclockwise toward a rewind steady position. A new coil 1 to be rewound next is mounted at the other end of the arm 10. A photoelectric element 11 is arranged on the locus of the rotation, and the number of pulses from a pulse generator connected to an arm driving motor 13 is counted during the time when the light is shielded by the new coil, thereby measuring the diameter of the new coil without contacting. |
