Butyne-2 is obtained from 2-chlorobutene-2 at 200-600 DEG C. in the presence of an oxide or chloride of K, Cu, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn, Cd, Al, Ce, Pb, Sn, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co or Ni. The catalyst may be supported on pumice, glass beads, active carbon or magnesia rods or may be used alone in solid or melt form. Reaction times of 1-20 seconds are used. |
