A practicable device comprises a delimited surface which is accessible to one or more persons, characterised in that the said delimited surface is subdivided into a certain number of distinct areas, in that it comprises sensor P and detection D means associated with each of the areas for detecting the presence of a part at least of one of the persons, and generating a binary detection signal, and in that it comprises a programmable arithmetic and logic processing unit with at least one microprocessor, or computer, which receives as input, in serial, parallel or combined mode, the binary detection signals corresponding to the associated detection volumes and various areas, and which derives, as a function of these signals and of a pre-established computer programme, control signals for at least one scenic effects synthesiser. <IMAGE>
