摘要 PURPOSE:To change accurately the thickness of a strip without causing the fluctuation of strip tension by estimating the amount of change of the speed of strip at the outlet side of a mill basing on the change of forward slip changing with the change of rolling reduction at the time of changing the sheet thickness during rolling, and changing the rotational speed of a coiler in accordance with the estimated value. CONSTITUTION:In controlling the tension of a strip at a coiler of rolling mill, a rolling reduction at the final stand 12 is changed for the purpose of changing the sheet thickness of a strip 10 on the way of rolling. In this case, the amount of change of the speed of strip 10 at the outlet side of the mill 12 is estimated by using an arithmetic device 34 basing on the change of forward slip changing with the change of rolling reduction to absorb the changing amount of strip speed at the outlet side by changing the rotational speed of a coiler 18 through an electric current controlling device 26. Further, a tension detecting roll 28 and a load cell 30 are provided to the space between the final stand 12 and the coiler 18, to control the number of revolutions of coiler 18 through a tension controlling device 32. Thus the changing of sheet thickness is accurately performed by adjusting the coiler 18.
