PURPOSE:To recognize accurately a character pattern despite its deformation and to eliminate the malrecognition by registering a character pattern to be recognized when characters are recognized for comparison and matching. CONSTITUTION:A pattern recognizer is provided to a form processor, and the data written on an application form 10 is read by a reading part connected to a control part 5. A number recognizing part 2a is provided to a recognizing part 2 connected to the part 5 to recognize the number read out of the form 10. A pattern memory part 3 includes a number memory part 3a to store the number of the form 10 recognized at the part 2a and a reference pattern memory part 3b to store the image of a reference pattern every character. The reference pattern recognized at the part 2a is stored to the part 3b under the control of the part 5 in a register mode. While the contents of the form 10 recognized at the part 2a are compared and watched with the reference pattern of the part 3b in the recognition mode of the data of the form 10. Thus a pattern to be recognized is accurately recognized despite its deformation. |
