PURPOSE:To make magneto-optical garnet nearly independent of a change in ambient temp. and to attain stable isolation by using Bi, Tb and Eu ions at the 24c position of the garnet. CONSTITUTION:The composition of this magneto-optical garnet is represented by the formula. Since the garnet has Bi, Ti and Eu ions at the 24c position, it acts stably as an optical isolator in the wavelength bands of 1.3 and 1.5mum independently of a change in ambient temp. and a change in the wavelength of laser due to temp.
