PURPOSE:To automatically correct the end face of a grindstone in an optional shape by providing a numerically controlled device to convert the information required to correct the grindstone end face into the required shape with a correcting tool into signals to drive driving units in the driving means of the correcting tool and a grindstone shaft and to output the signals to the driving units. CONSTITUTION:The information required to correct the end face of a grindstone 22 into the required shape is inputted to a computer numerically controlled device 36 to correct the grindstone 22. A control device 36 reads this information and converts it into the numerical information and outputs it to a correcting tool driving means 33 and a grindstone shaft driving means 35 respectively and drives servomotors 32 and 34 of the driving means 33 and 35 respectively. A grindstone shaft 21 and a correcting tool 31 are relatively moved by the drive of the servomotors 32 and 34. The end face of the grindstone 22 is corrected to the required shape, e.g., a shape of two or more different planes, curved faces or a combination of them. |
