<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality picture by fixing the cylinder fixing portion of a tab to the inside face of a support cylinder to make the external dia. of the support cylinder small for reducing input capacity. CONSTITUTION:The external dia. of the cylinder fixing portion 14c of a tab 14 is shaped to be larger than the internal dia. of a support cylinder 15. When a cathode sleeve 3 to which the tab 14 is welded and fixed is inserted into the support cylinder 15, the cylinder fixing portion 14c is adhered to the inside face of the support cylinder 15 by spring force. So, a laser beam is used to weld the support cylinder 15 externally. As the support cylinder 15 has not a flange and the tab 14 is fixed to the inside face of the support cylinder 15, the external dia. of the support cylinder 15 can be made small. In this way, the external dia. of the support cylinder 15 can be made small, and it, therefore, reduces the input capacity of a cathode and obtain a high-quality picture.</p> |
