The reversible heat-sensitive colouring composition consists of an electron-donating colouring compound; of an electron-accepting compound which is capable of producing a coloured substance having a uniformly agglomerated structure in the electron-donating colouring compound at a colour development start temperature in order to obtain a colour development state and capable of being separated from the coloured substance by crystallisation at a decoloration start temperature which is below the colour development start temperature; and of an organic compound serving as a decoloration accelerator capable of initiating the destruction of the uniformly agglomerated structure of the coloured substance in order to accelerate the decoloration of the composition. A reversible heat-sensitive colouring recording medium includes a support and a recording layer formed on the latter, which contains the above reversible heat-sensitive colouring composition. <IMAGE>
