<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device capable of acquiring information relating to a cover to be mounted on the portable terminal device, a cover, a system using them to distribute content, a server and its distributing method. <P>SOLUTION: The cover 30 is provided with a contact type IC chip 31 at a prescribed position, and the IC chip 31 stores related information relating to the cover 30. A portable phone 10 is provided with a contact type chip reader 5 which is brought into contact with the IC chip 31 when the cover 30 is mounted on a mounting part 4 to read the related information. The chip reader 5 is provided at a position of the portable phone 10 corresponding to the position where the IC chip 31 of the cover 30 is provided, and brought into contact with the IC chip 31 when the cover 30 is mounted.
