A hydraulic power generating apparatus (1) comprises a casing member (7) which has a water channel (7c) extending through the casing from a water sup ply side opening (7a) to a water discharge side opening (7b) and is immersed in a flowing water; a pair of rotary blades (3) which are integrally fixed to respective rotating shafts (2) and each of which has blade parts (3a) dis posed in the water channel (7c) of the casing member (7); an electric power generator (9) attached to one end of the rotating shaft (2); and a water flo w velocity increasing part (7d) so formed at the water supply side opening ( 7a) of the casing member (7) that its area at the opening end is gradually d ecreased toward the downstream side.
