PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ultrasonic diagnostic equipment automatically measuring the blood vessel diameter irrespective of types of a short axis/long axis when measuring the diameter of the blood vessel. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic equipment is provided with a contour extraction means 15 for extracting the contour of input image data, a determination means 16 for determining whether the image is a short-axial image or a long-axial image based on the extracted contour, a short-axial image measurement means 17 for measuring the contour section in the short-axial image, and a long-axial image measurement means 18 for measuring the contour section in the long-axial image; and determines the ultrasonic image as the short-axial image or the long-axial image and measures it according to the determination result.
