PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control automatic stop/start of an engine. SOLUTION: When a stop condition is satisfied, the engine is automatically stopped after a lapse of a wait time Y. The wait time Y is set to be longer, as a parameter X acquired by data processing of an engine speed Ne is smaller (S240). A mean value of the engine speeds Ne after the restart is set (S230), as a parameter X. Compared with a case of a high vehicle speed, the engine speed becomes relatively smaller in a case of a low vehicle speed.
