PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve power cycle resistance and reliability of a fuse by solving trouble where a joint part of a fuse element is broken in an early stage by thermal stress associated with turning on/of of current carrying. SOLUTION: This fuse is composed by extending a composite fuse element between metal caps with terminals arranged at both ends of a fuse tube, wherein the composite fuse element 4 is formed by serially combining fuse elements 4a each formed of a copper material with a short-circuit element 4b formed of a silver material, and the respective fuse elements are soldered to each other by a low-melting-point tin-zinc alloy 4c. In the fuse, for the fuse element 4a of a copper material, a silver-plated layer 4e is formed on its joint surface as a coating film, thereafter the tin-zinc alloy 4c is soldered to prevent a direct reaction between the copper and the solder, and a copper-zinc intermetallic compound high in brittleness is prevented from being produced on its joint interface.
